Long-Range Plan for the Waldorf School of Lexington is a revision and update of the 2006 Long-Range Plan. It represents the culmination of eighteen months of discussions among the school’s community, during which we have noted and celebrated goals in the 2006 plan that have been accomplished, evaluated the continuing relevance of items in that plan that have not yet been fully realized, and considered important new initiatives. Beginning with an open, half day meeting in November 2010, involving parents, faculty, school administrators and trustees, the school commenced a wide ranging conversation about how to move our school into its fifth decade. Parents also shared their aspirations and concerns through an online survey. A second open meeting was held in January 2011, in which refined initiatives in the emerging revision of the Long Range Plan were considered as likely candidates to be included in a future capital campaign. For purposes of further discussion and feedback from the community, the revised plan is being sent to community members in August 2011 and discussion and feedback will take place at a series of “Fireside Chats,” which will be held in the fall of 2011.
