Mission Statement

The Diversity Committee of the Parent Council strives to support The Waldorf School’s implementation of the principles included in the school’s diversity statement. We work to make our school a place where families, faculty, and staff of diverse backgrounds feel welcomed and valued. We work to support the school’s educational goal of bringing students to an understanding and experience of the common humanity of all the world’s people—transcending stereotypes, prejudices, and divisive barriers. The committee provides a forum for discussion, education, and exploration of issues of age, ancestry, color, creed, disability, family composition, gender, gender-identification, marital status, national origin, race, religion, sexual orientation, and socio-economic status.

Meeting Schedule for 2007-2008

We meet on the second Wednesday of the month from 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. in the school library, except for the months of January and June, when we will meet on the third Wednesday. Childcare is available with advance notice.
