She graduated Bishop Hafey High School, Hazleton, PA in 1981 and was an English major at Marywood University in Dunmore, PA graduating Cum Laude in 1985. She is survived by parents Joseph and Lois Dzuiba, Hazleton, PA.
Dorene started writing stories in a marbled-green composition book when she was in fourth grade. She was always a writer.
After graduating from Marywood College in 1985, Dorene moved from Pennsylvania to Boston where she first served in the communications office of the New England College of Optometry, then as a writer at Northeastern University, and communications director at Boston University School of Dental Medicine. She learned about conceiving and directing programs and about facilitating groups and became a quick study, an intelligent interviewer, a good listener, an adept “translator,” and strategic thinker.
Dorene founded Soapbox and began her communications consulting career in 1996 where she collaborated with visual designers and other consultants on complete marketing programs, print publications, and electronic communication. Her strengths as a writer and creative partner lie in developing fresh, compelling, and lively image messages that are based in sound strategic thinking.
Although educational institutions were her emphasis, Dorene’s client list includes the areas of hotel and leisure, retail and professional services, and health care. She uncovered the message and gave voice to the following prestigious clients.
