Dr. Elizabeth Englander will be coming to the Waldorf School of Lexington this Thursday, January 27, 7-9 p.m. Dr. Englander's research focuses on the causes of bullying behaviors in children, with a particular emphasis on cyberbullying, Internet safety, and cyber-risk behaviors. Her talk will address several topics:
- What are the causes of bullying behaviors in children? How can children be socially successful? How can adults help children achieve social success, both online and offline?
- Understanding and addressing cyberbullying in practical, concrete terms. Englander "translates" these behaviors into non-technical language for adults who may feel that their children are more "computer-savvy than they are.
- Understanding social networking sites, and how to help children navigate them sensibly.
We would like to encourage all parents and members of our community to attend this incredibly current and relevant lecture. Please invite any friends, family, or neighbors who you feel would be interested to join us. It is free to attend. For more information, please visit Dr. Englander's website.
