The school has engaged OMR Architects of West Acton, MA to lead a Campus Master Planning process. Master planning will help us envision how our buildings and campus can be renovated and further developed to better serve our program in the near and longer term future. Here is how OMR Architects describes the process: "OMR's campus and master planning experience has taught us to study in a holistic way; that is to keep all pieces of the puzzle in view as we explore how one or another fits into the bigger picture. The collaborative engagement of all interested parties sets the stage for a successful and transformative campus master plan. The master plan presents an opportunity to express your vision across your entire campus."
As part of the Master Planning Process, the architects have conducted interviews with faculty, parents, staff, and students. They have made numerous site visits, brought in engineers and landscape designers to study our buildings and site, documented and studied the school’s program and space needs, and observed and documented the school’s traffic flow, traffic patterns, the configuration of our neighborhood, and the town building codes. In short, they are studying our site’s challenges and potential, and exploring architectural solutions.
The architects recently presented a summary of the Master Planning "Goals and Values" to emerge from this initial research. These goals and values will guide our process as we continue to move forward and explore particular approaches to developing a long-term vision for the school's campus. You are welcome to read the summary by clicking here:
Campus Master Planning Goals and Values.
The resulting campus master plan will provide us with an imagination for what our campus can become in the near and longer term future and lay the foundation for launching a capital campaign to fund phased campus development projects over the coming decade. We look forward to sharing the results of this planning process in the near future!
