Our backyard: 185 acres of preserved land

Established in 1971, the Waldorf School in Lexington, MA is a Pre-K through Grade 8 independent school, offering a challenging curriculum with rich and varied programs in academics, the arts, and physical education. Our school serves 250 students with 54 full- and part-time faculty and staff members.

Holistic: Since 1919, when Waldorf education was founded by Austrian philosopher Rudolf Steiner, our education has married intellectual training with the development of student's physical, creative, and moral capacities--integrating children's hearts, bodies, and minds.

Interdisciplinary academics and arts:  We offer a structured, developmentally appropriate, comprehensive curriculum that interweaves traditional academic subjects with visual arts, music, movement, and two foreign languages.

Students collaborate in social education

Non-sectarian:  Waldorf School of Lexington is non-sectarian. We celebrate the cultural, racial, religious, and socioeconomic diversity within our community. Our teachers acknowledge and respect the natural gifts of each person, encouraging and challenging students to achieve their fullest human potential.

Accreditation:   We are  a member of the Association of Independent Schools in New England (AISNE).  We are accredited by the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
