Founded in 1971, The Waldorf School is situated on historic Massachusetts Avenue in Lexington and backs up on 185 acres of trees, meadows, fields, and marsh. The site offers hills for sledding, rocks for climbing, woodland paths for walking, even a pond for skating--all within 20 minutes of downtown Boston. Inside are large classrooms with high ceilings, hardwood floors, and wonderful light--lovingly restored by parents and staff. A second building, once a colonial tavern, houses our nursery school classes.
The community has an international flavor, reflecting the diverse population of greater Boston. We have thriving programs for parents with infants or toddlers, as well as two nursery classes, three kindergartens, and elementary grades 1 - 8. Hot lunches are served daily.
Our school is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA), and is a member of the Association of Independent Schools in New England (AISNE).
We are accessible by car, bus, or bicycle. The Minuteman Bikeway is adjacent to the school grounds. We warmly invite you to come take a closer look. Click here for Positions Available.
